We’ve all heard what they say – money is the #1 cause of divorce. In the U.S. most folks aren’t taught how to deal with their finances. There’s no “Money 101” course in high school or college. Often, we’re left to piece together what we saw our parents do and throw in some things we may have learned along the way.
In this episode, we’re talking all about our money mindsets and how we came to learn about handling our coins. In our own marriages, we handle the money a little differently. Over all though, we’ve found a system that works for us and we’re perfecting it everyday.
What We’re Sipping on This Episode:
Gnarly Head – Pinot Grigio – This Pinot is described as a “bright, white wine [that] boasts citrus blossom, tropical fruit, honeysuckle, and white peach aromas, followed by luscious flavors of nectarine, lemon, and honeydew that wraps up with a clean, refreshing finish.” Honestly, we didn’t get any of that! In our opinion, the wine didn’t really have much of a taste at all. Overall, this wine is probably best served in a sangria where there are other flavors to make up for the lack of a distinct taste.
About the Episode:
This week Sasha and Shara talk all about managing their coins! Sasha definitely had a more suburban experience and grew up knowing that her parents were able to afford nice things. Shara, while never going without as a kid, understood that her upbringing definitely wasn’t one of privilege.
Both ladies were taught very differently about how to manage money. While Sasha’s mom showed her the checkbook with her to show her where money went! Their early experiences with money and their husbands experiences with their own financial upbringing shape the way they both manage money as couples.
