EP 15 – Snap Back? Dealing with Our Body After Baby

EP 15 - Snap Back? Dealing with Our Body After Baby - www.creationsbysasha.com

We’ve said it time and time again – having a baby changes everything. And for most women, the biggest change of all happens to our bodies. What happens when the baby comes and you look in the mirror and realizes things just ain’t sitting the way they use to.

In this episode, we’re talking all about our struggles with our body after baby and how we’re working on our own personal snap backs while learning to love our new bodies. Because self-love is so important, even when you look a little different than you use to.

What We’re Sipping on This Episode:

Murphy Goode Cabernet Sauvignon – We’ve made it to our third Cabernet Sauvignon of the month and this Murphy Goode variety is such an improvement over our wine last week! Coming in at a ABV of 13.5% its a good dinner wine. With tasting notes that include “aromas and flavors of black cherry with a hint of black licorice…the finish will add notes of chocolate, vanilla, and just a touch of toast.” The ladies think that this is a much smoother wine and a lighter blend. If you’re a red wine drinker, it’s a good everyday wine and it’s even a twist top!

About the Episode

This week’s episode focuses on the struggles that almost all women have with their body after baby. Whether you have a vaginal birth or a c-section, trying to get your “normal” body back can be a struggle.

Sasha’s struggle isn’t as obvious to most people. While she’s always been a small woman, her body after baby doesn’t look much different. To her though, the weight definitely sits differently and isn’t in the places she wants. With two years into motherhood, she’s actively working to become healthier despite the number on the scale.

Shara had an almost instant snap back after having her son but has struggled with weight gain since then. She’s always been a “thick” girl and loves her body shape but could do without the added weight. She loves doing high-intensity workouts but since having a c-section, it’s been harder to do the exercises she loves.

The Takeways:

When you have a baby, your body will change. There’s no getting around that. When it comes to loving your body after baby, it’s all about learning to love what you see in the mirror and remembering that you grew a person! We may never get back to what we looked liked before the baby, but we can always work towards a better us.
