Your favorite Swirl & Sip Podcast hosts are both ???? ????! Proud graduates of North Carolina A&T State University and Bowie State University we both loved our schools and the amazing experience of getting to experience higher education surrounded by Black and Brown people achieving great things!
In this episode we are talking about our HBCU experiences, why we chose to attend HBCU’s, and the stark different between northern and southern historically black colleges and universities.
What We’re Sipping On This Episode:
Darkhorse Chardonnay Described as having welcoming pineapple aromas and stone and tropical fruit notes and hints of toasted oak, let’s just say, Sasha was not a fan but Shara swears it tastes just like peach. There is a distinct pineapple finish so if you don’t like pineapple, this isn’t the wine for you. Coming in at 14.1% ABV, it is however Sasha and Shara approved.
About the Episode:
Sasha and Shara are proud graduates of HBCUs (historically black colleges and universities) and have also had the experience of attending PWIs (primarily white institutions) for grad school. Our HBCU experiences definitely shaped us. Even though we grew up in the DC area, surrounded by Black and Brown people that were solidly middle class, there’s something different about attending schools where everyone is a minority and working to achieve bigger things.
