EP 221 – Italian Excursion – A Tour of Wine Country with Anna Savino

We’re on our way to Italy…in our minds of course because it’s still a pandemic! Of course, we both love wine so we were ecstatic when we got the chance visit wine country to talk to our special guest this week – Anna Savino.

What We’re Sipping On This Episode:

Noble Vines – Sauvignon Blanc – Because we were recording early, we didn’t want to drink anything too heavy so we went with a white today. It’s definitely Sasha & Shara approved at 14.5% ABV! According to the tasting notes, it’s described as “tropical aromas of guava, gooseberry, passionfruit, along with the freshness of green grass. Medium-bodied with bright acidity, this refreshing wine offers flavors of guava and pineapple, and a clean, mineral finish.” Shara could taste the passionfruit and Sasha agreed that it was a crisp with a clean finish.

About the Episode:

Anna is originally from Napa, California but has lived in the Piedmont region of Italy since 2005. Her love for the region—and especially the wines of Barolo & Barbaresco—has led to a career in food and wine guiding with her companies Italianna Tours and Barolo Wine Club. She specializes in organizing small group tours and always seeks out the most personal and unique gastronomic experiences for visitors in the Langhe.

We talked to Anna about what it’s like owning a tour business during a global pandemic and the difference in raising children in Italy.
