The Complete Wine List |Red Wines | White Wines | Rosé & Other Wines

EP 2 – Adjust, Adapt, Repeat
According to Apothic’s website the White is “a blend of Chardonnay, Riesling, and Pinot Grigio” with tasting notes of peach, apricot, and floral. We love Apothic brand wine, and although this isn’t our normal red, we do think that it’s a good white if you’re trying to step up to drinking a less sweet wine.

EP 4 – Who Needs A Maid When I’ve Got You?!
Flo Wine describes its Chardonnay as “a well-balanced, fruit forward wine“. With floral notes and lemon zest, the first thing we noticed was it’s “toasty oak” aroma. For us red drinkers, the taste was a pleasant surprise. This is a white we’d actually drink again!

EP 5 – But You Say She’s Just A Friend
Josh describes this wine as “sunshine in a glass” and Shara and Sasha definitely agree. It’s described as “aromatic and bright with a crisp, clean finish” and features “flavors of lemon and kiwi and scents of green apple”. Sasha and Shara really enjoyed this white wine. Not to sweet but still with a fruity taste, they can see it being the perfect summer drink or made into an amazing sangria!

EP 9 – Talk Money To Me!
This Pinot is described as a “bright, white wine [that] boasts citrus blossom, tropical fruit, honeysuckle, and white peach aromas, followed by luscious flavors of nectarine, lemon, and honeydew that wraps up with a clean, refreshing finish.” But honestly, we didn’t get any of that! For us, the wine didn’t really have much of a taste at all. We think this wine is probably best served in a sangria where there are other flavors to make up for the lack of a distinct taste.

EP 19 – The Great Debate
Shara is the only one drinking a new wine this week and she choose to go the Moscato route! Jam Jar describes this Moscato as “flavors of peach, apricot, lychee and orange blossom.” According to Shara it’s sweet but not too sweet. She can tastes all the tasting notes and it comes in at 13,5% ABV so it’s a good enough drinking wine. Especially if you’re a Moscato fan.

EP 21 – Am I A Good Mom?
Sasha is not happy that she is “forced” to sip on a white wine this week, but because of #TheRona, it’s the only wine she has in the house! This wine is described as having “bright fruit flavors, and zippy aromas.” Sasha would say that all white wines are summer wines. This one was slightly too sweet for her taste but still a decent white. It also comes in at 13.5% ABV which is of course, Sasha approved.

EP 204 – Putting In That Work
This white wine was actually the wine used for Sasha’s wedding. It pairs well with shellfish, mushrooms, and aperitifs and has flavors of green apples, nutty, roasted hazelnuts, and citrus. Although Sasha isn’t much of a white wine drinker, she doesn’t mind the flavor. This wine is definitely on the lighter side and comes in at only 12% ABV.

EP 206 – Look Back At It
Menage a Trois – Limelight Pinot Grigio
This wine is described as “refreshing kisses of citrus, aromas of orange blossom, zesty key lime, and juicy apple flavors.” We think it’s a great summer wine and isn’t as sweet as Sasha initially expected. Shara thinks it would be a great wine for a sangria. It’s Sasha and Shara approved at 13.5% ABV which of course, makes it worth sipping on!

EP 208 – A Place of Our Own
Described as having welcoming pineapple aromas and stone and tropical fruit notes and hints of toasted oak, let’s just say, Sasha was not a fan but Shara swears it tastes just like peach. There is a distinct pineapple finish so if you don’t like pineapple, this isn’t the wine for you. Coming in at 14.1% ABV, it is however Sasha and Shara approved.

EP 211 – Self-Care Isn’t Selfish
This Chardonnay may be the highest ABV we’ve had on the show! Coming in at 16% ABV, we had high hopes (or Shara did since it’s white wine). We didn’t realize that 19 Crimes made white wine. This “Chardonnay is filled with stone fruit aromas and a sweet textured palate...[with] hints of butterscotch and honey balanced with layers of ripe fruit [that] finishes with rich notes of butter and vanilla.” We know that Shara loves stone fruit and Sasha could definitely taste the butter finish.

EP 215 Special Child, Special Mom
After having a horrible experience with Menage a Trois’ Limelight Pinot Grigio, Sasha was not looking forward to having another Pinot. But she was actually pleasantly surprised by this one. Described as having “freshly-squeezed citrus, green apple, pear and orange blossom.”, Sasha could definitely taste the green apple and the crisp, refreshing taste. We’ve learned that Shara is not really a fan of citrus, so this was just an okay wine for her. It is 13.5% ABV though so of course, that makes it Sasha and Shara approved!

EP 216 – Those Who Matter
Described as having “vibrant notes of grapefruit, zesty lime and green characteristics“, Shara and Sasha weren’t sure if we had even had this wine before. While we both love the Dark Horse brand, we weren’t huge fans of this wine. Most importantly, at only 13% ABV we can’t give it the Sasha and Shara stamp of approval. It’s definitely on the fruitier side but still slightly drier. Shara describes it as a refreshing and definite summer wine.

EP 220 – New Year, Same Us
In an effort to get more whites into the rotation, we’re branching out with a Vidal Blanc. This wine is described as having “an alluring aroma of cantaloupe, pineapple, caramel, and orange” with a “clean semi-sweet finish balanced by refreshingly crisp acidity.” It took a minute for us to decide if we actually liked this wine. Sasha decided that she actually does like it while Shara remained pretty undecided but said it could get a place on the shelf. It is not Sasha and Shara approved since it’s only 11.7% ABV.

EP 221 – Italian Excursion
Because we were recording early, we didn’t want to drink anything too heavy so we went with a white today. It’s definitely Sasha & Shara approved at 14.5% ABV! According to the tasting notes, it’s described as “tropical aromas of guava, gooseberry, passionfruit, along with the freshness of green grass. Medium-bodied with bright acidity, this refreshing wine offers flavors of guava and pineapple, and a clean, mineral finish.” Shara could taste the passionfruit and Sasha agreed that it was a crisp with a clean finish.

EP 222 – Fighting for Out Lives
We’ve been adding more whites to our list and this week we’re trying another Sauvignon Blanc. We hadn’t heard of this brand before but picked it out together. Described as “fresh, bright, and crisp; the wine opens with complex aromas of lime zest, Meyer lemon, pink grapefruit, lemongrass, freshly cut hay, honeysuckle, and a hint of wet stone. Fresh and forward, zesty flavors of grapefruit and citrus with subtle herbal notes meld beautifully with a vivid acidity.” Shara was immediately a fan while Sasha wasn’t sure how she felt about it. We both agreed that it was an easy-drinking wine and was almost like drinking juice. While Sasha didn’t taste the citrus fruit, she did taste the acidity of the wine. It’s of course, Sasha and Shara approved at 13.5% ABV.

EP 301 – Making Money Moves
We’re in a celebratory mood to kick off Season 3 so we wanted a celebratory wine! All of the wines we’re sipping on this season are Sasha and Shara approved with at least 13.5% ABV and this one comes in right at the cut-off! This Chardonnay was surprisingly good (at least for Sasha who actually chilled it before drinking). According to the website, it has “an irresistible fragrance of crème brulée, honeyed pineapple, and exotic floral notes … and on the palate, a wealth of ripe tropical fruit flavors meld with luxurious French vanilla and hints of sweet spice before culminating in a smooth, buttery finish.” Shara could smell the creme brulee in the wine and Sasha was pleasantly surprised with the flavor.

EP 303 – Wellness Redefined
Our second Chardonnay of the season and Sasha finally managed to drink it correctly – as in she chilled it first! According to the website, this wine has “aromas of Meyer lemon, Gala apple, and subtle hints of Oak.” Surprisingly, Sasha didn’t hate it. Both of us didn’t taste much fruit except for the slightest hint of peach. Of course, all our wines this season are Sasha and Shara approved at 13.5% ABV.
